Law practice

Bernard is a member (since August 1985) of the Law Society of Saskatchewan http://www.lawsociety.sk.ca  ,  the Collaborative Lawyers of Saskatchewan Inc. www.collabsask.com  and he is a mediator.

Bernard is restricting his practise to the following areas:

- real estate (residential and commercial),  leases, transfers, mortgages, agreements for sale, offers to purchase and surviving joint tenant applications; 

- family law including divorce applications, otherwise through the collaborative law process or mediation and Interspousal Contracts;

- estates administration of estates including applications to court for letters probate and letters of administration, wills, powers of attorney and health care directives;

Collaborative Law Process of dispute resolution

The collaborative process of dispute resolution is an alternative to court resolution of disputes in family, estate and contract law. 

Bernard N. Stephaniuk has the designation as a lawyer being able to practice in the collaborative law process and as a mediator of dispute resolution. He has completed the following courses/workshops: Part one – Interest based negotiation: Part two – collaborative law: Part three – Advanced training;  "Effective Negotiations:  Working Collaboratively With Clients & Counsel" facilitated by J. Glen Gardner, Director, Saskatchewan Dispute Resolution Office and a team of Co-facilitators and presented by Collaborative Lawyers of Saskatchewan Inc., March 12, 2010.  INTRODUCTION TO MEDIATION TRAINING March 1, 2, and 3, 2011 provided by The Dispute Resolution Office, Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice and Attorney General.  Presenters were J.
